Fall and Winter

This is a time to prepare you lawn for the cold winter ahead, and give it a head start on the coming spring. Winter fertilization will ensure a head start on spring and a better toleration of the stresses from cold winter temperatures.

If any bare spots need to be replanted, this is the time to do it. 

Other important fall and winter tasks are removing the leaves, and cleaning out the gutters.

Depending on the weather, leaf removal may take several visits, and is best integrated with mowing through the end of November. After the leaves are down we can clean the gutters to protect you siding, keep water away from the foundation, and away from the garden beds. Soaking the soil with gutter run off can lead to root rot and kill many of your garden shrubs.
